The 1955 U.S. Open Championship was a golf competition held at the Olympic Club.
Jack Fleck won the championship by defeating Ben Hogan in a 18-hole playoff, 69 to 72. Fleck's first round deficit of nine strokes (behind Tommy Bolt), was the largest overcome by a U.S. Open winner.[1]
